at Woodbrooke Conference Centre, Birmingham
25th and 26th September 2019
Day 1: will involve presentations and workshops on developing narrative and reflective practice.
Speakers: Lisa Cherry (Trauma Expert / Researcher / Author & Trainer), Dr Neil Thompson (Co-Author of 'The Critically Reflective Practitioner' / Online Tutor), Nandor Grosch (Film-maker/Hungary), Carly Kingswood (Creative Attachment & Trauma Therapist / Consultant / Trainer)
Objectives: To gain a greater understanding of what is meant by trauma-informed practice and its application. To consider British and international perspectives on trauma-informed practice
Day 2: will focus on current practice and research from a range of speakers.
Speakers: Dr Caryn Onions (Child & Adult Psychotherapist - The Mulberry Bush), Sylvia Duncan (Consultant Clinical Psychologist / Family Therapist / Specialist in Trauma and Attachment / Therapeutic re-parenting), Hellen Kalinda (Family for Every Child/Undugu Society of Kenya), Dr Miriam Silver (Consultant Clinical Psychologist / Specialist in Attachment and Parenting / Outcome Research)
Objectives: Sharing best practice and evidence on what works in trauma-informed practice for children in kinship, foster and residential care, as well as in work with birth families and in the community. Consider how to assess and demonstrate change.
